Ramsey
1940s Weekend 2008 took place on 16th & 17th August, the sun shone, the visitors came, it was a great weekend! The Debbie
Curtis Radio Big Band played the Hanger Dance on the Saturday night, Quote from Andrew Elsom Organiser
"Our Hangar Dance on Saturday night was a 1,000-ticket sell-out and I
think we could have had twice that number, but we could only fit so many people in." from Peterborough Today

We love Ramsey, not to
be missed! P & R
Just read all the comments with interest, but no-one mentioned the wonderful John
Miller, nephew of the great man himself, he and Debbie Curtis turned out a great performance and all my party really had a
great time at the Hangar dance and intend to be there next year too! We also enjoyed Lola Lamour and Paul Harper, I have to
agree that the queue to the bar was a pain early on, but later on that got better so we still managed to drink plenty!!! RJ & Party
Hi, Ramsey was a great weekend, we all had a great time, wasnt the weather kind, enjoyed the dance
apart from the queue to the bar. Thought Sunday was very respectfully carried out! JH & SH
Really enjoyed
the dance Debbie. FK
A very interesting weekend, Im very new to all this but enjoying it immensely. SG
Thought it was all great, dance was spoiled a little by echoes in the hangar but I thought the band, Lola and Paul
coped with that really well PH
We had a great time at Ramsey and no rain except overnight! MB
An interesting and varied Ramsey once again, we enjoyed it all from all the displays, excellent reenactors who were all
so nice to talk too, heard lots of great music and really enjoyed the hangar dance. DB and AG
Excellent weekend
thank you, brilliant band Saturday night, hope they'll be back, as a musician myself (not professional) I could tell these
guys and Debbie Curtis really knew their stuff. The displays were all excellent and it was nice to see it so well attended
by the public. We had no time to stop talking with so many interested visitors to our display and everything seemed to run
so smoothly. Now looking forward to next year. EM
Had a wonderful time at Ramsey, we thought the whole event
was fantastic, we didn't go to the dance as this was our first visit and we came on Sunday but we will be going next year.
My children also thought it was great and were amazed to see children of their own age all dressed up, they particularly enjoyed
sitting in a gun and pulling the controls. JC & Family
Only got to the hangar dance as I had to work but
it was a fantastic night out and what a brilliant band and singers. The sound was a bit weird where we were sitting but perfect
on the dance floor area so we didn't mind. We had a great time thank you and what an atmosphere! BJ & Family
Hangar dance was superb, a great night, loved the atmosphere, great band, first time I've seen Debbie Curtis,
also enjoyed Lola Lamour and Paul Harper. Will be there again next year! TC
It was a great event, some excellent
re-enactment displays, and very well organised and easy to get round compared to some 40s events we've been to. We enjoyed
it all immensely, also did lots of dancing Saturday night and thought the band was the best to date at Ramsey. Paul Harper
and Lola Lamour were as good as always, will be back again next year! JL PM JR
Ramsey was brilliant! TC
Thank you for a very enjoyable day out on Saturday, it was a real experience, so much to see and do and everyone was
so friendly and informative. BH & TH
